There are over 10,000 birds in the world and I want to see and photograph them all. It is the very definition of an impossible task. Too little time and too many birds. I need to post a picture on a daily basis to finish before I am 70. Lets see where we get to...

74 : Citrine Wagtail
Citrine Wagtail - Motacilla citreola
I need to start to pay more attention to all the wagtails at the pivot fields. I am staring at a plate in the Birds of the Western Paleartic with 38 individual head marking patterms for different races of yellow wagtail. This Citrine wagtail which is a different looks like a Grey Wagtail with an all yellow head really - its longer tailed than a Yellow wagtail. This is a real ''asiatic" bird and its Summer range seems to begin in the East where Grey Wagtail peters out. These are birds of the tundra and boreal swamps. Perhaps 2 million of these birds migrate up into Asian Russia each year each year.
